Gabriel Jonsson is Associate Professor in Korean Studies at Stockholm University, Depart-ment of Asian, Middle East and Turkish Studies. He received his BA in East Asian Studies in 1987 and his PhD in Korean Studies in 1996, both from Stockholm University. He teaches Korean language, history, politics, economics and inter-Korean relations. His research focuses on inter-Korean relations, South Korean domestic politics and the two Koreas’ relations with the UN. Latest publications include Towards Korean Reconciliation: Socio-Cultural Exchan-ges and Cooperation (Ashgate, 2006), Peace-keeping in the Korean peninsula (KINU, 2009) and Consolidation of Democracy in South Korea? (Stockholm University, 2014). He is a regular visitor to South Korea.
