Prof. Kent Deng is currently a Professor of Economic History at the LSE. His research interests primarily focus on China’s economy, the Chinese fiscal state and its impact on the economy. In 2015, he gave a public speech on ‘China Looking West, 1600-2020’ whist also publishing ‘Mapping China’s Growth and Development in the Long Run’ examining the past in order to predict the future of China’s economy.
